Biogas upgrading unit by Biovoima is up and running well at Nevel biogas plant in Forssa, Finland. The unit is now completely and successfully commissioned, and it has produced pure biomethane for two weeks. The biomethane produced by this BIOupgrade unit is used both for industrial and commercial utilization. The biomethane is used in Saint-Gobain´s Isover glasswool factory and also pressurized for gas transportation containers utilized in other locations.

BIOupgrade was designed, manufactured and commissioned by Biovoima in about one year. Biovoima’s BIOupgrade CH4 gas upgrading unit, based on membrane technology, is an automatic solution that can be remotely monitored and controlled, enabling efficient gas upgrading to methane concentration of over 99 %. At the Nevel Forssa plant, biogas is produced from biowaste and sewage sludge.
