In December, Biovoima was awarded the ISO 9001 certification. The company is committed to continuously strengthening and ensuring the quality requirements of its operations and developing its internal processes based on the ISO 9001:2015 management system standard. The certification, obtained at the end of 2024, covers project management, maintenance, and design services for biomethane and biogas plants and projects, as well as their sales processes.
The company’s CEO, Eero Tilsala, views the ISO 9001 certification as a significant step in ensuring the quality of operations and driving continuous improvement.
“Achieving the ISO 9001 standard was a team effort. Many aspects of our operations were already aligned with quality practices, as quality has always been central to our solutions. The biggest task during the certification process was documenting the processes in greater detail. Complying with the standard not only enhances quality and continuous development, but also meets a growing requirement. Particularly in international projects, ISO 9001 certification is often mandatory. Our next goal is to advance further in terms of quality standards and achieve the ISO 14001 environmental certification, aimed at creating a cleaner future for us, future generations, and our customers. This is already reflected in our mission— why Biovoima exists,” says Tilsala.
The international ISO 14001 standard defines the requirements for an environmental management system, enabling organizations to enhance their level of environmental protection systematically. The standard is designed for organizations that wish to manage their environmental responsibilities in a way that supports the sustainability aspects of environmental protection.
