Grid injection unit: Baltics

A 10-foot marine container is used as the frame of the network connection container.

In 2020, Biovoima has delivered network connection containers to a major gas and environmental company in the Baltic countries. The grid connection containers had a capacity of 550 Nm3/h and were equipped with a chromatograph, gas odourisation, flow measurement and control automation. The grid connection containers enable the customer to depressurise the biogas processed in the plant and feed the gas into the natural gas network.

For feeding biomethane into the natural gas grid, the Biovoima's in-house manufacturing includes a containerised solution - web connection account, which precisely regulates the pressure of the biomethane to be fed into the network to meet the requirements of the network. The grid connection container also enables gas scrubbing and the measurement of the quality and quantity of gas supplied to the grid for commercial use and billing of the grid company.

The gas can be fed into the grid immediately after biogas processing or transported to the container either by pipeline or with a high-pressure shipping container. The mains connection can also be used for pressure relief in applications other than mains gas supply.
