Biovoima has delivered a PSA gas processing system to BioHauki Oy's biogas plant in Haukivuore in 2020. The PSA gas processing unit is needed to process biogas into transport fuel (CNG).
In addition to methane, raw biogas typically contains about 35-40 % of carbon dioxide, plus small amounts of water, nitrogen, oxygen and impurities. To make the gas suitable for use in, for example, car engines, most of these components must be removed before pressurisation and refuelling.
Biogas processing unit process raw biogas into clean biomethane suitable for transport or the natural gas grid. Thanks to the reliable and high-quality PSA and membrane technologies used, no chemicals or water are required and the final product has a high methane content.
